  2. The frequency inverter with input frequency 50Hz/60Hz has high frequency resolution, simulation setting: 0.1% of maximum frequency; numerical setting: 0.01Hz.
  3. Equipped with an LED indicator screen, 3 phase motor inverter can display frequency, output voltage, and output current.

What are the modes in a 3-phase inverter?

A 3-phase inverter typically operates in several modes to control the output voltage and frequency for various applications. The main modes include:

  1. Six-step mode: In this mode, the variable frequency inverter produces a quasi-square wave output by switching each phase through six distinct steps per cycle. Each switch remains on for 120 degrees of the electrical cycle, resulting in a waveform that approximates a sine wave. This mode is simple but can introduce harmonic distortion.
  2. Pulse width modulation (PWM) mode: Sinusoidal PWM (SPWM): This is the most common mode where the inverter uses a high-frequency carrier wave modulated by a low-frequency sine wave to generate pulses. The width of these pulses varies to approximate a sine wave, leading to better quality output with reduced harmonics.
  3. Space vector PWM (SVPWM): This advanced PWM technique optimizes the inverter's performance by calculating the vector space of the reference voltage and switching the states to minimize harmonics and maximize efficiency. SVPWM offers better utilization of the DC bus voltage.
  4. Current source inverter (CSI) mode: In this mode, the 3 phase inverter controls the output current rather than the voltage. It is used in applications where the load characteristics demand precise current control, such as in motor drives.
  5. Voltage source inverter (VSI) mode: The frequency inverter controls the output voltage, making it suitable for applications where stable voltage supply is critical. VSI mode is widely used in industrial and commercial applications.
  6. Direct torque control (DTC) mode: This mode is specific to motor control applications. DTC directly controls the motor torque and flux by selecting the appropriate inverter state, allowing for precise and fast dynamic response.
  7. Hysteresis mode: In hysteresis mode, the three phase inverter switches are controlled based on the error between the reference signal and the actual output. When the error exceeds a certain threshold, the switches change state to correct the error, providing robust control.

I used this 55kW frequency inverter to change the speed of the motor. The item works perfectly. It's also very fairly priced compared to some other frequency inverter.
