Tips: How to calculate the head of solar water pump for water tank?When we design a solar water pumping system for water tank or home use, we should confirm the head of solar water pump. If the pump head is not enough, the water flow will become small or even the water can not be pumped to the water tank. In general, there are 3 distance should be confirmed. h1: the perpendicular distance between water tank and ground. h2: the perpendicular distance between ground and solar water pump (in the well). h3: the horizontal distance between water tank and solar water pump (in the well). Then, the pump head H can be calculated as follows: H=h1+h2+h3/10 For example, the height of water tank is 12m, the solar water pump is placed at a depth of 5m, and the horizontal distance between water tank and solar water pump is 10m. According to the formula, H=h1+h2+h3/10=12+5+10/10=18m.
