How to select a right solar inverter for PV system?

Solar inverter is an important conversion device of solar photovoltaic system, which can not only convert direct current energy into sinusoidal current synchronized with the frequency and phase of the power grid, but also feed the power into the grid. It can also protect the safety of the whole power station, so the selection of a good solar inverter plays an important role in the photovoltaic power station.

  1. Efficiency. The efficiency represents the power loss of solar pv inverter. The efficiency of the inverter has an important impact on the photovoltaic power generation system to improve the effective power generation and reduce the cost of power generation. Therefore, the selection of solar inverter should be compared as far as possible and the products with higher overall efficiency should be selected.
  2. Rated output power. The rated output power represents the power supply capacity of the solar inverter to the load. Solar inverter with high rated output power can carry more power load. When choosing solar inverter, we should first consider that it has enough rated power to meet the requirements of the equipment under the maximum load, as well as the expansion of the system and the access of some temporary loads.
  3. Startup performance. The solar inverter should be started reliably under rated load. The high performance solar inverter can start at full load for many times without damaging the power switch and other circuits.
  4. Output voltage adjustment performance. The adjustment performance of output voltage represents the voltage stabilizing ability of output voltage of solar inverter. Generally, photovoltaic inverter products give the percentage of fluctuation deviation of output voltage of the solar inverter when the dc input voltage changes in the allowable fluctuation range, which is usually called voltage adjustment rate. It would be nice if the casing were more rugged for outdoor use.
I used this 300W grid tie inverter to connect a small panel array to my home system, and it synced up with the grid smoothly. MPPT tracking works well. It’s great for light-duty setups, but don’t expect it to handle high-demand appliances.

Compact 300w grid tie inverter for home solar needs!
This 300w grid tie inverter works just right for my small solar setup! The pure sine wave output is reliable, and it is simple to connect to my panels. I really like the MPPT function, which is super flexible. Highly recommend.

Quite happy with this 300W grid tie inverter
The previous unit I bought was similar, but it had a kettle plug for connecting to the mains. But for the rest, I am quite happy with the 300W grid tie inverter. It is doing what it is suppose to do.

Willing to order again
I connected a grid-tied inverter to a 24 volt solar panel array. It obviously works fine. I hooked it up to a wattmeter, and when the sun started to rise one
early morning in December, the lights on this unit started to blink. The sun came up, the MPPT blue light started blinking, it saw 24 volts with real amps
behind it, and the wattmeter reported that it was feeding power to the grid.

Genuine solar grid-connected inverter
The pictures of the goods I used to buy online are for reference, and the actual goods do not match the reference pictures.
