Large wind turbines use speed-increasing gearboxes to control the speed of blade rotation.

Good power output, but needs stronger winds

This 400w wind turbine does a great job once it gets going, but it needs a decent wind speed to start up—around 2.5 m/s. The build quality feels solid, and the power output is good. However, in areas with low wind speeds, it might not perform as well as expected.
