Overview

Galley appliances, navigation electronics, pumps, and lighting all need clean AC power, yet a vessel's battery system only supplies DC. The 3kW marine inverter bridges that gap. It draws 96V DC from lithium or lead-acid batteries and delivers 3 kW of single-phase AC at 14A rated output (220V), with output voltage and frequency selected at order.

DSP digital control and a built-in low-frequency isolation transformer keep waveform distortion under 3% on linear loads and electrically isolate the AC side from the battery side. Protection covers input reverse polarity, under-voltage, over-voltage, output over-current, short circuit, and overheating.

Marine inverter LCD screen

LCD Screen

The front-panel LCD shows live operating data without an external meter: DC input voltage, output frequency, phase voltage, phase current, mains bypass voltage, output energy (kWh), time, temperature, and fault codes. Five LED indicators and a five-button keypad sit beside the screen for status checks and menu navigation, while a dedicated Start Switch below it prevents accidental power-up.
Marine inverter front and rear views

Front and Rear Views

Seen from above, the front panel carries a large perforated ventilation grille beside the display, while the rear panel houses the breakers and cable entries along with its own ventilation openings. These openings let the internal cooling fan move air through the chassis, keeping the transformer and power stage within temperature limits during long continuous runs. Keep both sides unobstructed and leave clearance from walls and bulkheads.
Marine inverter metal enclosure

Metal Enclosure

The painted metal enclosure of this marine power inverter is sturdy and durable, with excellent impact and vibration resistance, which matters on vessels where engine vibration and hull motion are constant. Rack-mount ears and side handles make installation and servicing straightforward. With IP20 protection, mount it in a dry, ventilated compartment.

Features

  1. Pure Sine Wave Output: Waveform distortion stays below 3% on linear loads, supporting sensitive navigation and communication electronics as well as household appliances.
  2. Low-Frequency Isolation Transformer: Isolates AC output from the battery bank and adds strong anti-interference and impact resistance.
  3. DSP Digital Control: A DSP28335 control chip delivers fast, precise regulation with conversion efficiency above 92%.
  4. Motor-Friendly Soft Start: 150% overload for 5 seconds plus a soft-start function helps with pumps, fans, and other motor loads.
  5. Comprehensive Protection: Guards against reverse polarity, under/over-voltage, over-current, short circuit, and overheating, with fault codes shown on the LCD.
  6. Flexible Configuration: Choose 110/120/220/230/240V output, 50/60 Hz, and optional RS485 communication.

Use Cases

  • Electric and Hybrid Yachts: Turns a 96V lithium or lead-acid bank into AC for air conditioning, galley appliances, and entertainment systems.
  • Sightseeing and Passenger Boats: Powers cabin lighting, audio systems, and onboard equipment on ferries and tour vessels.
  • Pontoons and Houseboats: Provides steady AC for long stays on the water, paired with battery storage or solar charging.
  • Fishing and Work Vessels: Runs refrigeration, deck lighting, and tools, and serves as backup when the main generator is down.

FAQ

Q1: What battery bank does this marine inverter need?

The standard input is 96V DC with a 31 A rated DC, supplied by a lithium or lead-acid bank. Other DC input voltages are available on request, so contact us with your battery configuration before ordering.

Q2: Can it start motor loads such as pumps and compressors?

Within limits, yes. The inverter holds 150% of rated load for 5 seconds and includes a soft-start function, but some motors draw more than that on startup. Compare the motor's starting current with the 5-second overload rating, and move up a size for hard-starting compressors.

Q3: Is the marine power inverter waterproof?

No. It carries an IP20 rating for indoor use. The metal enclosure resists vibration and impact, but it should be installed in a dry, ventilated compartment away from bilge spray and direct sunlight.

Q4: Which output voltage and frequency should I choose?

Select them to match your onboard equipment: 120V/60 Hz is typical for North American vessels, and 230V/50 Hz for much of the rest of the world. Other combinations from the 110/120/220/230/240V range are available.
