Power Inverter Applications

Tips: Inverter, rectifier, and transformer
As we all know, the power supply can be divided into alternating current and direct current. But in many cases, you need to switch between these sources.
- AC to AC - transformer
Transformers can be used to either step down or step up the voltage, or even to isolate the voltage without changing it.
- AC to DC – rectifier
The common rectifiers are rectifier diodes and thyristors. The diode rectifier (not controlled rectifier) and thyristor rectifier (phase-controlled rectifier) in the rectifiers, cannot flow in both directions, that is, the energy can only flow from the AC side to the DC side. Almost all home appliances and computers have rectifiers inside, which are installed in the electrical power supply.
- DC to AC – inverter
The inverter realizes its operation with thyristor. MOSFET inverters are commonly used in the case of high frequency low power level. The inverter is used in UPS and frequency converter, such as frequency conversion air conditioner.
- DC to DC – DC/DC converter
It is often used in instruments or gauge.
