How does the PWM controller control the charging process?

  1. Voltage detection and comparison:
    The PWM solar controller continuously monitors the output voltage of the solar panel and the voltage of the battery.
    When the output voltage of the solar panel is higher than the charging voltage of the battery, the solar controller needs to take measures to prevent overcharging.
    When the output voltage of the solar panel is lower than the charging voltage of the battery, the controller needs to allow charging.
  2. Duty cycle adjustment:
    According to the result of voltage detection, the PWM charger adjusts the duty cycle of the square wave signal to control the size of the charging current.
    When the charging current needs to be reduced, the controller will reduce the duty cycle; when the charging current needs to be increased, the controller will increase the duty cycle.
  3. Constant current and constant voltage charging:
    In the early stage of charging, the PWM solar charger usually adopts a constant current charging mode to charge the battery at a faster rate. At this time, the controller maintains a constant charging current by adjusting the duty cycle.
    When the battery is close to full charge, the PWM controller 24v switches to constant voltage charging mode to maintain a constant charging voltage. At this time, the duty cycle will be further adjusted to ensure that the charging current gradually decreases to prevent overcharging.

For a basic solar setup, this solar charge controller is a solid pick.
This 50A PWM solar charge controller gets the job done at a budget-friendly price. It’s easy to set up, and the LCD gives all the key info like voltage and current. However, the PWM charging isn’t as efficient as MPPT, so you might lose a bit of power.

Great value and does the job well!
For the price, this 50A pwm solar charge controller is a steal! It automatically adjusts to my 12V system, and the LCD screen shows everything I need—voltage, current, and even temperature. The light control feature is also handy.

Follow the instructions to complete the installation
Very easy to install, simple to operate and seems to work perfectly. I connected it to 2 100W solar panels, my AGM batteries are fully charged during the day
and then it works in any weather, I hope the controller will continue to work well.

My question about the solar charge controller
Hi! I am new to this and interested in getting a solar-windsystem running, while we've already got a solar panel installed (320W) on a 12V battery system. I'd love to add a 400W wind turbine. As I might wanna upgrade the system later on to a 24V battery system when it's getting bigger, the gib question now is if we should go with a 12V or 24V 400W wind turbine.
In both cases, this MPPT controller would be able to feed a 12V battery, wouldn't it?
And if we'd upgrade later, would it feed a 24V battery?

It is recommended to use 24V 400W wind turbine.
Our MPPT charging controller can automatically identify the battery voltage, and both 12/24V can be used.
Great 50A solar charge controller
