Tips:

In the selection of a off grid solar inverter, first of all, sufficient rated capacity should be considered to meet the power requirements of equipment under maximum load. For the inverters loaded on a single device, the selection of rated capacity is relatively simple.

When the electrical equipment is a pure resistive load or the power factor is greater than 0.9, the rated capacity of the inverter is 1.1-1.15 times of the capacity of the electrical equipment. At the same time, the off grid solar inverter should also have the ability to resist the impact of capacitive and inductive loads.

For general inductive loads, such as motors, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, high-power pumps, etc., the instantaneous power may be 5-6 times of its rated power when starting. At this time, the inverters will bear a great instantaneous surge. For such systems, the rated capacity of the solar inverters should have sufficient margin to ensure that the load can start reliably. High-performance off grid soalr inverters can start at full load for many times without damaging power devices. For its own safety, small inverters sometimes need to adopt soft start or current limiting start mode.

Application example:

The main load of the photovoltaic system is a 150W refrigerator. The DC to AC inverter with rated capacity of 180W can work reliably when it works normally. However, because the refrigerator is an inductive load, its power consumption can reach 5-6 times of the rated power at the moment of starting, so the output power of the inverter can reach 800W when the load starts. Considering the overload capacity of the inverters, 500W power inverters can work reliably.
